Blogging Tips for Work at Home Moms

Blogging is one of the best ways to start a home based business. You don’t require any special skills to start and run a blog. Blogging is a perfect home based business model for work at home Moms.

A Couple Of Warnings

  • You need to understand that blogging is not a get rich quick thing and requires hard work and perseverance to get results
  • You should not expect money to start money rolling in immediately as it takes time to build a solid income stream with blogging.

BUT – The best part about blogging is that you can work on it from the comfort of your home and with time and effort convert it into a profitable business.

Tips For Getting Started

When you are building a blog to earn money from it you should focus on providing quality information to your readers on a consistent basis. You should offer value and post unique information. There are several hundred thousands of blogs out there and may be a few hundred related to your niche. You have to stand out on what you offer your readers and give them a reason to visit your blog on a regular basis. You should remember if you can’t provide your readers with the information they are looking for they have a lot of options and will move on to other blogs.

You should focus on the format of your blog and make it user friendly. You should avoid too much linking of your blog content and put links where it truly makes sense. The role of links should be to give your readers additional information on your blog topic where required.

You should carefully select your blog’s background and font color to maintain a professional appearance. It’s ideal to choose a light background and dark font for best results. You should also avoid changing your blog’s background and font color unless it’s truly essential.  Don’t make it hard for your readers to even see your words to read them!

You should always proofread your content before posting them on your blog. If your blog posts contain spelling and grammar errors you are certain to lose credibility and cannot build a reader base for your blog.

You should also focus on posting fresh and interesting information on a regular basis. The internet is full of information and if you aren’t posting consistently your readers can easily move to other blogs. If you can’t come up with fresh ideas for new blog posts you can post polls, list of helpful tips or write a review about a recent news story to keep your readers interested and involved.

Work at home moms can easily build a solid home based business with blogging. They can take care of their family and also work on their blogs. When they keep posting quality content consistently over a period of time the blog can start earning them good amount of money and turn into a solid home based business.

  2. Also, don’t be afraid to let things that aren’t working go. I watch my stats to discover what my readers are truly interested in. Surprisingly, it was not what I expected, but as I go forward I focus more on those types of content.

  3. I also find it very helpful to train my children, since I homeschool, that I have set hours (during my youngest nap time) where I’m writing to other mommies. In my home, that means you don’t interrupt unless it is necessary and you use a method called “The Interrupt Rule”. This has allowed me to find 2 hours of mostly uninterrupted time to focus on my blog.
