Another mistake that bloggers make is to write about a wide ranging topic. It is more advantageous to narrow the topic that you will write about. Narrow topics have less competition, so the internet community that you are targeting will have a lesser number of blogs to choose from to read on that particular topic. For example, if your interest and knowledge base includes short stories, instead of writing about short stories in general, you could narrow this topic down to children’s fictional short stories. In fact, the topic could be narrowed even further to fictional short stories for children between nine and twelve years old.

Always update your blog
A unique blog needs to be updated with interesting details on the c hosen topic. In this way, you will attain a following of readers that you can interact with. After you’ve won some fans with your unique blog writing skills you can question them and get their opinion on your blog, including topics that they would like to read about. If any of the suggested topics pique your interest, then you have the option of exploring these topics and deciding if you would like to include these on your blog. By soliciting opinions from your readers and acting on them, you will be able to increase the range of topics for your blog and widen your audience at the same time.

A truly successful and unique blog may take months, or even years, to develop and attract an audience of great magnitude. It is important to choose the right narrow topics, not to give up and to continuously update the material and obtain feedback from readers. Especially if you are using the blog to sell products, it is essential that you spend enough time and energy on maintaining the uniqueness of the blog and attracting more and more readers each day.
