Welcome to the 100 Comments On My Blog Post Event! Over the next 8 days, you’ll have the opportunity to get over 100 comments on your own blog post, as well as post 100 comments on other blogs. This is great chance to find new blogging friends and check out some great blogs!

How to Participate:

Comment on each of the blogs in your group over the next 8 days.
This breaks down to about 17 comments to leave each day over the next 8 days.
Make sure your comments are meaningful - add something to the discussion, answer a questions. Don’t just put that you’re stopping by from the event – those sort of comments are very spammy and not what we’re after for this event. Heya, is it okay if we use these lists to go in and comment on the various blogs? Apparently I put in the application but didn’t get my link in, blah, blah. Love this idea – hopefully this is a huge success and continues into the future! I’ve copied and pasted everyones links into a Google Docs spreadsheet to keep track. So far it’s working very well – wanted to pass on the idea if anyone else is interested/looking for some sort of method to the madness to stay organized and keep track of comments left!

It’s fun visiting these blogs and seeing what you all are up to. I started with number 1 and was working my way down the list when I had an idea. I’m going to change course and start commenting on the blogs in the middle of the list, continue to the end, then go back and finish visiting the blogs on the beginning of the list.

I thought this would be a good idea, so that the people at the end will have some comments sooner. It is so encouraging to get comments and I can see it will take a while before we get to the end of the list. Just thought I’d put this out there in case anyone else wants to spread out their commenting this way.

Since I’m just a beginner, I’m inspired by the blogs I’ve seen so far.

I had a spamblocker plugin on my site that wasn’t allowing ANY comments, but it has been disabled. I’m #122 on the list. If anyone tried and couldn’t leave a comment, the problem has been corrected. Sorry about the inconvenience and frustration.

I am a little concerned that after getting through about 1/2 the list and 1/2 the 8 days, I am seeing all these blogs have 50-100+ comments… while my post has just 13 comments… I hope it’s just that people haven’t gotten to me yet…

I’m working on commenting as fast as I can. I really wish folks would turn off the word verification thing. It doesn’t work with a tablet and it can take 10-15 minutes for each blog to do it on my phone.

Can someone tell me how to comment when it says “comment as:” then there is a drop down menu with choices. I’m trying to comment as OpenId thinking that is for someone who doesn’t have accounts in the other choices. It says Open ID URL. I’ve tried inputting everything I can think of, but I can’t get it to work so I haven’t been able to leave comments on these blogs. I have a wordpress blog, but I can’t make the WordPress choice work for commenting either. Thanks for any help someone can give me.

I have completed this challenge. I enjoyed reading all of these blogs. There were a few that didn’t work but I’ve read so many blogs in a short amount of time. If there is another one I might sign up for that. The links that didn’t work for me were #64, #51, #82, #86, #97, #103 but other than that the blogs were great and made some connections. I read SO many interesting blogs! Tks for organizing . It was a challenge to get through all of the blogs, but I learned so much and hopefully built some good relationships. Done! Woohoo! That was fun but at times it was also overwhelming. All three of my children have gotten sick this week and keeping up with my own posts created a lot of work. I had trouble with #’s 5 (crashed my browser), 51 (no comment form), 97 (web page expired), 103 (undergoing renovations), and 112 (404). Some of the links were not accurate but I just went to their homepage and searched for the title of the post from the inaccurate link. Some of the post content was difficult to comment on but it was fun reading everyones. Found some great new blogs to follow.
One thing that I think would have made this easier was that each of the links from this post would open in a new browser window. I spent a lot of time waiting for this post to reload and scrolling down every time to find where I had left off. I ended up opening this post in three different tabs and working on three at a time and then reloading and it went much quicker.

WOW. It took a lot of time but I finally got through them all! Had problems with these sites:
#97 couldn’t find anything
#112 didn’t work
#125 my computer detected a link to malware and warned me not to proceed, so I didn’t.

I enjoyed reading so many different friends and finding a few I now want to follow. I would have loved to get more comments on my blog (I got about 30) but that was my first post ever, so I’m sure I received a lot more than I would have otherwise! Thanks for putting together this event!

I have finished the list. Could not get one to work at all and couldn’t find it even after extensive searching. And another seemed to require the need to register and set up a password which I wasn’t willing to do. Some of the links that didn’t work earlier in the week did end up working later, so I was glad I made a note of them and tried back again.
There were some really interesting posts, overall a very positive experience.

oh I have to mention I used the “Linky” feature in FireFox to highlight and open 10-15 links at a time in separate tabs each…. so that helped with the clicking through for me. I love that feature of Firefox! Although Blogger blogs that wanted me to login with Google or another account wouldn’t let me comment so I had to copy/paste their links over into Internet Explorer to comment.
If for ANY reason I missed somebody (like the blogs whose links would not open for me), please send me your link and I will get to you ASAP!!!
